Martlec carried out underground pipe locating at Bendigo Harness Raceway ahead of the club’s major lighting upgrade. The investigation focused on water, gas and sewer services, providing information about existing underground infrastructure to support planning for the proposed works.

The lighting upgrade was the bigger objective. Understanding the services beneath the site, and addressing gaps in existing service information, formed an important part of preparing for that work.

Locating the sewer line and supporting gas record updates

Leigh used ground penetrating radar (GPR) to investigate underground services at the raceway. Martlec located the sewer line and provided feedback to assist with updating gas service records that were old and incomplete.

Martlec also supplied a full report documenting the findings and identifying issues associated with the services located. This gave the club a written record to inform planning for the lighting upgrade and consider matters requiring further attention.

The work connected underground service investigation with a practical project need: understanding existing infrastructure before progressing a major upgrade.
